   First make sure you understand this cpk comes folded in half inside a small rectangular box. You can not see her inside. It’s not a typical display-your-cpk box that a cpk comes in. The other ‘vintage kids’ come in a display box – this one doesn’t. So I was very disappointed in this. I’m a collector – so I either leave her in a box I can not see her or let her out to get displayed and get dust on her. I’ve show picture of the box for you. She smells good. I like the powdery-smell the cpk have. She has gold hair and blue eyes. Her hair is very soft. Her shoes are plastic. She has panties on not a diaper! She has signature on her butt. She has bows in her pigtails. Bracelet on wrist (check to make sure yours has this). Dress has Velcro in back so appears removeable. The adoption papers are taped to the inside of the box.

   I love this doll and it made the perfect gift for my grand-daughter. She always takes mine and asked for one of her own. When she opened it, she was so super excited. She is 5 years old and loves dolls, but this isn’t a barbie or baby doll. It is a cabbage patch doll – something different and perfect!

   I always wanted a Cabbage Patch Doll growing up but never did get one! So when I saw some were for sale on DollsByDorcel, I immediately grabbed them up! I’m just hoping more will be for sale on DollsByDorcel soon! I love the 16 inch Cabbage Patch Dolls the most and this doll is beautiful and her dress is gorgeous. She smells amazing like baby powder and she has the cutest smile. I adore her! I even kept the box and the birth certificate inside of it.

   During a recent visit, my 2-year-old great niece took a real liking to my circa-1984 Cabbage Patch doll (Josie Karel :-)). I wanted to give her her own Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas. After failing to find the same type of Cabbage Patch doll with the yarn hair in the stores, I turned to DollsByDorcel and, as usual, was not disappointed. The Cabbage Patch doll is almost identical to my almost-40-year-old version and, with yellow yarn hair, looks like my great niece (like my doll looked like me before my hair started turning gray LOL). I rated the Value for Money at 3 stars because it’s neither a grand bargain nor exorbitantly expensive. However, the gift giving anticipation is definitely 5 stars!

   My daughter is 8 and has a friend who inherited some “vintage” cabbage patch kids. They became my daughter’s favorite while playing with her friends dolls. I could only find the smaller version in the stores. The new cabbage page kids are not as authentic looking or sturdy. This cabbage patch kid is the same size as the vintage ones and pretty sturdy given how poorly everything is made these days. I actually was able to dig out my old cabbage patch kids from the 80s (thanks, mom) and in comparison, this is not a bad re-make at all. The older ones have a material that is a bit thicker and denser but all in all, this is an excellent reproduction. If they had other styles (boys, babies, different color hair, etc) I would not hesitate to order. If you are trying to find something akin to what we had in the 80s for your kids…this a very good choice.
