   I’ve done probably 20 or so of these little wooden kits from various companies and this particular one is IMO all around one of the best. From them I’ve done “Butterfly Collection Room” and ” Twilight Cottage”. Both of them are very nice quality materials AND cutting/printing. They are also very well “engineered”! Lighting is ample (not so in all other manufacturers kits) and much easier than many to string up and install. Wires are hidden well. (But sometimes I paint them to hide them even more). Cuts are precise and the fit is very good! Dust covers are provided too. I’ve had very little parts breakage with this company! I’d like these folks to come up with some dioramas with movement! All in all, these are GREAT value for the cost.

   I completed this booknook over a few days with a couple hours each day. They provided glue and tweezers and I used my own scissors. I liked the glue because it had a very small applicator. The pieces were nicely done, punched out fine. Some of the pieces fit in very well and some pieces didn’t and would fall out. So I just glued them in. Also I had a hard time keeping my house on the base. They kept slipping out and the foundation was a little wobbly once I put pressure on it with the items in the second story. It definitely could’ve been the way I put it together, just warning you. Other than that it was a great kit.

   This was my fourth ‘book nook’ kit, each of which was from a different company. I got this particular kit because it looked more complex. It took about 14 hours to complete, a few of those hours because I used paint pens to touch up parts (hide the brown laser cut edges in most cases). The scale of this kits’ parts is smaller than most, making for more detailed objects. If you are patient (especially punching / cutting out small parts), you will greatly enjoy the end result. A few tips: 1) paint brown edges when you can, 2) use glue as necessary (majority of the parts are designed for a snug / snap fit, but not all), 3) I removed the person on the second floor landing as I thought it detracted from the ability to see into the back of the kit, and it wasn’t a ‘good looking’ part, 4) consider painting the big wheel edge black instead of using the tape (I used the tape, did not like the look and removed it, 5) touch up all detach points with brown paint / ink if you aren’t going to paint the edges.

   Overall the quality is very good and the finished product looks great, but it needed a lot of extra work to put together. Many of the wood parts don’t quite fit right and I had to sand them down or glue parts together that were too loose.
   This was my first nook book and it took much longer than I expected, around 30hours. The instructions were similarly “miniature” and the diagrams are comically small at about 2 inches big. It’s a shame that the instructions are organized well and printed in color, but the size is ridiculously small. I had to go back and install one of the lights because the instructions are so small I didn’t even see it. I also had to watch youtube instructions to figure out that the light switch needs to be glued to ceiling in order to work.
   Some important indications in the diagrams, like what to attach and where to glue are literally 2 millimeters in size. I had to use tutorials on youtube to figure out these steps.

   Extremely detailed and certainly a worthwhile build. Be warned, the instructions, while detailed are mostly pictures that are very small so it is easy to miss steps/parts. Has all stickers for books and objects and extensive semi to transparent sheets/parts that really add detail. Be careful with the mono-wheel – it has to be aligned with groves not easy to see in the instructions and not noted. Wiring is poorly displayed and needs close attention for some locations & routing. Parts fit extremely well but glue for some is a necessity. Spiral stair case needs to be glued and patience and time for sections to dry before adding more steps

   I just received this the other day and I have completed about half of it, so far I am enjoying the build. This is the 7th nook I have built now and that experience has helped me a lot with this one. It’s been a little challenging in spots, but I am a little vision impaired and it would be a bit more helpful if some of the instruction pictures were a just a little larger. I have noticed as others have mentioned on this kit, some of the pieces don’t fit quite right, so glue is your friend. The “wood” isn’t as sturdy as other kits I have done, so care should be taken popping the pieces out. All in all, I am enjoying the challenge of this one. If I were to do this one again, I think I would use black paint instead of the black sticker strips they give to wrap the various tires in the build. I believe I have one more vehicle to put together and I will be painting those wheels. In conclusion, take your time and have fun, that’s what it’s all about.

   I love the steampunk meets Leonardo Da Vinci theme. There are a lot of tiny and delicate parts, so remove them with patience and care. With certain parts sanding is needed for assembling, such as a wheel drum part on the second floor bikey thing and other items; the parts won’t fit if you don’t sand them.
   Because of the layout two items are not visible enough: one the steam punk machinary device on the lefthand side of the second floor and the nice drawer cabinet in the middle of the second floor, which is a pity. I love the motor bike on the first floor and the flying machine. All in all I really enjoyed assembling this book nook and I’m glad I purchased it.

   This is my 5th book nook, and my least favorite. The finished nook looks great and the old Jeep is awesome. But I had some problems.

   1. The manual is terrible. It’s printed too dark to be able to identify certain of the dark finish pieces. They use dotted lines to show where a piece goes but the dotted lines overlap. The English translation of some of the directions is confusing. Fortunately, there is a YouTube video of the building of the kit that will help a lot. Search on DIY Wooden Car Players Book Nook.

   2. Some pins wouldn’t fit into the holes and other pins were too loose. I used more glue than I had in any other nook.

   Their wire management is excellent for routing and organizing the wires and LED lights.

   So great result, but troublesome build.
